Minister of SMEs and Startups Young Lee announced the “Support Plan for Export SMEs” to develop new export markets in the digital economy era at the emergency meeting attended by economy-related ministers on Jan. 26th.

Minister Lee had a meeting at the Export-Import Bank of Korea to explain the background and main contents of the 「Support Plan for Export SMEs」 to export SMEs and the related experts.

She said, “SMEs have played a crucial role in our economy by contributing to 40% of the country’s export. However, amid difficult external conditions such as the recent global economic downturn, there is a need for a new growth strategy to overcome these difficulties.
 
“We have prepared the 「Support Plan for Export SMEs」 with suggestions from about 20 meetings since October of last year, and we will closely review various opinions from today’s meeting and reflect them in the support plan,” she said.
